Dissolving Resistance
Your Objective
Your Role
You are a clinician supporting a patient during a psilocybin-assisted therapy session.
The Situation
Help the patient trust their capacity to continue allowing the experience to unfold rather than prematurely stopping.
Your Goal
The patient has emerged from an intense peak experience feeling overwhelmed and is talking about being 'done,' which may indicate an attempt to stay surface-level rather than going deeper.
How You're Evaluated
There is no single "right" path through this scenario. The aim is to practice staying present, grounded, and responsive when things feel uncertain.
Encourage full immersion as the experience unfolds
Use gentle metaphors for surrender
Maintain consistent, calm presence without rushing
Provide space without pressure when patient withdraws
Frame experience as temporary and safe ("everything changes")
Employ repetition of reassurance when defensive moves persist
Give permission to feel whatever is present
